Simucube Culture: Equal Opportunities
In 2024, Simucube was awarded the “HumanPower24” title for the most human-centric workplace in Finland among companies with fewer than 250 employees. What made it especially meaningful was that the nomination came from an external party — a great recognition of the team’s dedication to building a unique and people-focused culture.
Recruitment is often the first touchpoint for candidates, and we believe it should reflect who we are. That’s why we ensure every step of our hiring process aligns with our values and culture — because creating a human-centric workplace starts with how we welcome new talent.
What makes Simucube the most human-centric workplace in Finland?
At Simucube, potential employees can feel safe and treated equally from the very first step of the recruitment process. Equal opportunities for everyone and constantly improving how things are done are key values at Simucube. That’s why anonymous recruitment is part of the process.
Focus on Performance
With anonymous recruitment, all applications are reviewed without personal details. The system automatically blurs personal information such as name, email address, and photo from both the application form and the CV. The idea behind anonymous recruitment is to give a more diverse group of candidates the chance to reach the interview stage and to find the person who is the best fit — no matter their background or personal characteristics.
Born in Finland, built with a global sim racing mindset
Simucube may be rooted in Finnish culture and based in Hervanta area in Tampere, Finland, but just like the sim racing world itself, the company has had a global mindset from day one. English is the company language at Simucube, making sure everyone, regardless of background, can communicate and collaborate equally. Today, 11% of the team has an international background, contributing to key areas like R&D and Commercial. While English keeps the team aligned, additional language skills are a valuable asset, especially when it comes to supporting international customers and understanding their unique needs.
Different backgrounds, shared direction
Our team at Simucube was originally built on deep technical and engineering expertise. As we’ve grown, so has the diversity of our talent. Today, our team reflects a wide range of educational backgrounds, life experiences, and professional perspectives — bringing fresh ideas and stronger collaboration across the company. We’re also proud to be building a more gender-diverse workforce: women make up 20% of our team, an important step in a tech industry where women represent roughly one-third of professionals. Improvement isn’t a goal — it’s a mindset
At Simucube, we know that a candidate’s journey matters more than just titles or years of experience. While education and background play a role, we also value the drive, curiosity, and growth mindset that show up in many forms – whether it’s through personal projects, international experiences, career pivots, or newly acquired skills. What unites our team is a spirit of courage and a readiness to take on challenges. You’ll find this mindset reflected in our culture – and in career stories like finding a job in sim racing, featured on the Simucube blog: “From a nurse to People Lead – Susanna Lisma found meaning in leading people”.
Simucube aims to be at the forefront of innovation and looks for individuals with a growth mindset, a hunger to improve, curiosity, and the courage to try something new. Diverse backgrounds and perspectives are seen as a strength. Different viewpoints lead to better ideas, smarter decisions, and stronger teams. Simucube is also open to new ways of working that inspire better performance — like piloting a four-day workweek for a few months to support focus and well-being.
“We want to be better, while we’re not perfect, our focus is on making improvements. Everyone here feels that they have the chance to make an impact and help drive that change.“– says Tiina Knight, Simucube’s Head of People & Culture. “It’s in our DNA that we don’t even think about it.” – Tiina concludes.
