Not just Simucube 3: New era for sim racing

Simucube 3 and Simucube Savu

Simucube starts the next decade of high-end sim racing with partners

Six years ago, Simucube set the standard with the Simucube 2 wheelbase — a product that remains the trusted choice for racers who demand uncompromising quality. More recently, the Simucube ActivePedal redefined what sim racing pedals could be.

Today, we are doing it for the third time.

We are excited to announce that major names are on board. BavarianSimTec and Lovely Sim Racing are the main tech partners at launch. BavarianSimTec already releases their first Simucube Link compatible Delta Pro SC, with GSI and Ascher expected to launch wheels in 2026. Delta Sim-Tech, P1sim, and SimCore also announce their first Simucube Link wheels at launch. SimRacingBay and Cube Controls are expected to come out with their wheels in 2026.

With this new technology, we are introducing Simucube 3 wheelbase family, the next generation of wheelbases, together with the new Savu steering wheels, and the new Simucube Link Quick Release

The hard thing here is that every part of the simulator must be as good as possible. But who can make such things? Nobody can – because nobody can master everything. Instead, it’s always a joint effort from the best talents out there. The best talents making wheels, rigs, FFB devices and so on. This launch is all about teaming up. Aligning with best team to create the simulator of the future.

Simucube Link — The Backbone of It All

“Our ecosystem is closed only to a point where we can guarantee the quality. Above that, it is open.”

Hannu Harju, CEO at Simucube

At the heart of the launch is Simucube Link, a technology platform which focuses specifically on racing simulation. After a decade as the world’s main hardware provider for business-critical racing simulators, Simucube now brings that expertise to both professional and home users in the form of a complete platform.

The system is built on deterministic, real-time, and reliable communication with galvanic isolation over Ethernet, alongside other proven professional-grade technologies, to ensure reliability in every race.

We needed something more than a PC connection. We needed a stable, responsive, and open platform. Platform, which can be scaled and act as a foundation for the future. That platform… is Simucube Link.
Tero Nygård, Head of Product Management at Simucube

What Simucube Link Delivers

  • Galvanically isolated Ethernet-based communication for stability and safety.
  • Seamless connection for Simucube 3 wheelbases, all Simucube Wireless Wheels, and the new Link Wheel Module.
  • LightBridge wireless technology for contactless power and data through Quick Release.
  • An open API, enabling industry partners to build compatible professional-grade wheels and accessories.

Simucube is at its core an industrial company, which allows us to create high-performance and reliable products. This is where we shine.
Hannu Harju, CEO at Simucube

Link Wheel Module — For Builders and Partners

The Link Wheel Module is a compact foundation that gives wheel builders everything they need to create professional-grade racing wheels. It integrates displays, LEDs, and input electronics into one fault-isolated architecture, while also offering:

  • Touch display that can double as a PC or game control pad.
  • Local rendering for smooth, consistent telemetry.
  • LED synchronization and durable hardware design.
  • Support for both LightBridge wireless and USB passthrough.
  • Direct integration with Simucube Tuner.

Simucube 3 wheelbase

Simucube 3 — The new benchmark wheelbase

Simucube 3 comes in three models — Sport (15Nm), Pro (25Nm), and Ultimate (35Nm). All feature:

  • Re-engineered control algorithms for uniquely calibrated, silent, and consistent feel.
  • New motors designed to deliver efficient torque precision and response, Ultimate with a completely new Spoke-type IPM motor with dense magnetic fields for pinpointed accuracy.
  • Telemetry-based effects like road texture, ABS, and RPM feedback for added detail
  • Simucube Link Quick Release with LightBridge — brushless, contactless wireless data and power transfer.
  • New Control Box — system wake-up, in-race adjustments, and consistency across devices.
  • Tuner 3.0 — streamlined interface with sliders for torque and feel, telemetry effect controls, and profile sharing via the new Paddock.

Improved feeling in Simucube 3 wheelbases

With Simucube 3, Simucube has discovered three major areas how to improve feeling.

Calibration of control:

For this new generation of wheelbases, Simucube has completely re-engineered the control algorithm, each wheelbase is uniquely controlled.

This method allows us to tune the motor to its maximum precision and keep it silent.

This means consistent feeling across the entire lineup.

More detail:

For the new generation of wheelbases, Simucube is introducing telemetry-based effects. This is additional info about the environment. Planned effects include things like road texture, ABS, and RPM.

The motor:

For all three models, there can be found new motors that produce industry leading feedback for the user. Traditionally, Simucube wheelbases are using a type of electric motor where rotors permanent magnets are placed on the outer ring of the rotor.

Simucube 3 Ultimate wheelbases are designed to use Spoke type IPM electric motor, since the performance requirements were set so high that it needed to have completely new type of motor. In this type of motor magnetic field is pinpointed very densely. This means that the wheelbase can produce much higher torque levels and faster responses with less power supply.

New Quick Release: Simucube Link Quick Release

With Simucube 3 wheelbases, Simucube is launching Simucube Link Quick Release

Simucube Link Quick Release is in the shape of P3G polygon, which is a harmonic shape, and it has an infinite amount of contact points. This makes this shape of a Quick Release appropriate for vibrating and high-torque applications.

Inside Simucube Link Quick Release, there is a brushless, contactless, and wearless power and data transfer system, and it is called the LightBridge. With this system, Simucube Link Wheel Module based wheels get the data and power delivered through the QR.

Ease of use with Control box for all Simucube 3 models

Simucube is focused on improving the user’s experience.

With Simucube 3 wheelbases, Simucube is also bringing a Control box to the market. This is a device that replaces the original e-stop button box while bringing new features.

With Control box the user can adjust the settings on the system by using the scroll wheel without leaving the sim. An overlay is displayed on the computer screen.

Since the control box is part of the Simucube link system it will wake up Simucube pedals and other Link devices with the push of a button.

The new control box is delivered with every Simucube 3 wheelbase model.

Tuner 3.0

Tuner 3.0 simplifies setup with just two main sliders for torque and feel, while also offering advanced tools for fine-tuning force feedback, telemetry effects, fading/boosting signals, and mechanical feel adjustments with curve-control. Users can preview changes without starting a simulator.

Quality-of-life updates include tooltips, precise text-input sliders, and a new paddock for sharing and importing profiles. Tuner 3.0 supports both Simucube Link devices and SC2, with existing TrueDrive profiles carried over.

Simucube Savu Sport and Pro

Ergonomics

The shape fits naturally in your hands.  As with every Simucube product, Simucube Savu wheel is built with performance and precision in mind. In sim racing, that starts with ergonomics.

Responsive tactile feeling

After endless testing, and numerous iterations, we achieved a snappy feeling while keeping the noise of the shifters down.

Industrial-grade engineering

We’ve stress-tested the wheel, fine-tuned button response, calibrated LEDs across colors and voltages, and worked with suppliers to perfect surface finishes and textures.

Drawing from Simucube’s industrial design practices, we’ve simplified the internals, because the most reliable component is the one you don’t need.
