Thinking about buying Simucube ActivePedal but unsure what else you need? We will guide you on what to buy based on your current gear. Whether you are upgrading or buying everything for the first time, we are here to guide you through it.
First, find your current situation below. We will ask some questions for you to consider and show you options for Simucube ActivePedal. Finally, we will highlight some accessories to pair with your ActivePedal.
Your starting point: I’m starting fresh, upgrading everything at once or buying everything for the first time
You want to have a fresh pair of sim racing pedals, or you are new in sim racing and want to have the top tier gear already for your first races, this section is for you. Here we list some things you need to think about and then what would be the possible solutions for you.
What racing categories do I prefer to drive? How many sim racing pedals do I need? Is throttle and brake pedal enough or do I need to have a clutch as well?
- A clutch pedal is needed in drifting and usually in rally.
- In other racing types a clutch pedal is mostly optional. Some racers also prefer to use a manual switch with a stich or that is attached to the wheel.
Do I want to buy all the pedals as Simucube ActivePedals, or do I want to have the passive throttle beside it?
- You get many benefits from using the ActivePedal in different roles. As a brake, it delivers strong, precise force feedback. As a throttle, you can adjust how it feels by tweaking the force curve.
- With the Simucube ActivePedal, you can easily change force feedback through the Tuner software. Adjust the curve, max force, and preload with a few clicks. Plus, you can modify the passive effects of the pedal too.
Different solutions for you
Solution 1: Two ActivePedals
- You don’t need a clutch (total two pedals)
You want to get all pedals as active, non-passive pedals
Your choice: 1x Simucube ActivePedal Primary set, 1x Simucube ActivePedal Add-on
Solution 2: One ActivePedal and one Throttle
- You don’t need a clutch (total two pedals)
- You feel like you want to have an active brake,
- and a passive throttle would be the solution for you
Your choice: 1x Simucube ActivePedal Primary set, 1x Simucube Throttle
Solution 3: Three ActivePedals
- You want to have a clutch (total three pedals)
- You want to get all pedals as active, non-passive pedals
Your choice: 1x Simucube ActivePedal Primary set, 2x Simucube ActivePedal Add-on
Solution 4: Two ActivePedals and one Throttle
- You want to have a clutch (total three pedals)
- You want to have a passive throttle,
- and active clutch and brake
Your choice: 1x Simucube ActivePedal Primary set, 1x Simucube ActivePedal Add-on, 1x Simucube Throttle
Your starting point: I already have sim racing pedals and would want to use them with my existing Simucube ActivePedal
You have sim racing gear at home and prefer to keep your existing sim racing pedal/pedals, but you want to get the ActivePedal at least for better braking and upgrade a part of the set up. You feel like now would be a good time for the upgrade.
With Simucube ActivePedal racers have felt that they master trail braking better, feel more confident, love the adjustability, and say it feels more real.
Are your existing sim racing pedals compatible with the Simucube ActivePedals? Is it possible to use them alongside the Simucube ActivePedal?
Simucube ActivePedal compatibility with other sim racing pedals
If you would like to use your new Simucube ActivePedal with your existing sim racing pedals, you need to check that how you can attach the pedals together.
When using Simucube Throttle alongside the Simucube ActivePedal, you don’t need to have any adapters in between. However, if you have different pedals than Simucube, you will need to think about the adapter.
Different solutions for you
Solution 1: Heusinkveld Sprint pedals + ActivePedal as brake
- You have existing Heusinkveld Sprint pedals
- You want to upgrade to get an active pedal to go with your existing pedals
Your choice: 1x Simucube ActivePedal Primary set and Simucube ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld Sim Pedals or Simucube Baseplate Mount & ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Sprint (if you need to connect the Heusinkveld Sprint pedals to Simucube Baseplate).
The connector cable is meant to enable direct integration of Heusinkveld pedals with the Simucube ActivePedal software. Read more about the Simucube ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld pedals and how to use it from here.
Please note: For optimal functionality, we suggest purchasing the connector. Without it, the brake pedal would have to remain connected to the clutch and throttle, while also accommodating the ActivePedal.
If you use both throttle and clutch Heusinkveld pedals with the Simucube ActivePedal, you will need two connectors since each connector supports only one pedal.
Remember to check on Simucube Baseplate Mount & ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Sprint, if you need to connect your Heusinkveld Sprint pedals to Simucube Baseplate. Read more about this below from the section “Simucube Baseplate with Heusinkveld Sprint pedals”.
Solution 2: Heusinkveld Ultimate+ pedals + ActivePedal as brake
- You have existing Heusinkveld Ultimate+ pedals
- You want to upgrade to get an active pedal to go with your existing pedals
Your choice: 1x Simucube ActivePedal Primary set and Simucube ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld Sim Pedals
The connector cable is meant to enable direct integration of Heusinkveld pedals with the Simucube ActivePedal software. Read more about the Simucube ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld pedals and how to use it from here.
Please note: While it’s possible to use the Ultimate+ without the connector, we highly recommend using it for the best experience. With the connector, you can adjust all pedals in one software instead of having to use two separate ones.
If you use both throttle and clutch Heusinkveld pedals with the Simucube ActivePedal, you will need two connectors since each connector supports only one pedal.
Solution 3: Other third-party pedals
- Your existing sim racing pedals are from another third-party brand
- You would need to find an adapter for Simucube ActivePedal and the pedals you already have
Your choice: Simucube ActivePedal Primary set and the right adapter for Simucube ActivePedal and for the pedals you already have
Please note: You can use any third-party pedals with Simucube ActivePedal. However, you won’t be able to use the ActivePedal software to adjust the throttle and clutch. You will need to use their native software.

What does the Simucube ActivePedal box include?
Simucube has two different Simucube ActivePedal boxes, which are ActivePedal Primary set and ActivePedal Add-on set. Here we go through what the boxes include.
ActivePedal Primary and Add-on sets
These two sets are different. The Primary set has everything you need when buying your first ActivePedal. The Add-on set has fewer cables and doesn’t include the Simucube Link Hub because you only need one. The Add-on set is for when you’re getting your second or third Simucube ActivePedal. It only has the cables to connect the pedal to your existing ActivePedal.

Simucube Link Hub is used to connect your Simucube products, for example Simucube ActivePedals, to your PC.
You can read more about the Simucube Link Hub from here.
What accessories do I need to buy with the Simucube ActivePedal?
In addition to Simucube ActivePedal, you also need to think about the accessories you would need or want to have in your rig.
Simucube Baseplate
How to connect your Simucube ActivePedal to your sim racing rig, if the mounting hole dimensions do not match?
When you are buying new sim racing pedals, you need to think about the physical compatibility with your existing sim rig. The mounting hole dimensions of the pedals and the rig should be the same, if you want to attach the pedals straight to your rig.
When thinking of Simucube ActivePedals, they can be installed to almost any TrakRacer and Sim-Lab sim racing rigs. You can check the mounting hole dimensions of the pedals from here.
However, if the mounting hole dimensions are not the same, additional sim racing rig accessories are for you. Simucube Baseplate for example, is designed to ensure that Simucube pedals can be installed to almost any rig.
Simucube Baseplate with Heusinkveld pedals
How to connect your Heusinkveld Sprint pedals to your Simucube Baseplate?
If you want to connect your Heusinkveld Sprint pedals to Simucube Baseplate, you need to have a separate mount in between, since these two have different mounting hole dimensions. In this case, you can buy a Simucube Baseplate Mount & ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Sprint.
With this kind of a package, you can physically connect your Heusinkveld pedals to Simucube Baseplate, and also connect the pedal electrically to Simucube ActivePedal.
How to connect your Heusinkveld Ultimate+ pedals to your Simucube Baseplate?
If you want to connect your Heusinkveld Ultimate+ pedals to Simucube Baseplate, this is possible without the separate Baseplate Mount, so you only need to have the ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld Pedals.
Do I always need to have the Simucube Baseplate if I have Heusinkveld pedals and Simucube ActivePedal?
If your Heusinkveld pedals and Simucube ActivePedal can be connected to your sim racing rig without the Simucube Baseplate, then you can only think of buying the ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld Sim Pedals to connect your pedals electrically.

The Simucube ActivePedal comes with a standard faceplate. If you want to customize it, check out other options here and in the Simucube store.
