From Throttle to Clutch: Meet the new Simucube Co-Pedal

Simucube Co-Pedal

Have you ever wanted to take your sim racing rig to the next level with a three-pedal set—an ActivePedal Pro or Ultimate brake, alongside a passive throttle and clutch?

Now, it’s possible. Simucube Co-Pedal is a new passive pedal, which can be used as a throttle or a clutch.

Introducing Simucube Co-Pedal

Simucube Co-Pedal is a passive pedal that can be configured as a throttle or clutch using our patent-pending Arc technology. With Arc technology, Co-Pedal offers better modularity over direct spring adjustment.

Simucube Co-Pedal has got its inspiration from motorsport drive-by-wire systems with high-end Hall position sensors and angle measurement technology.

“Load-cells are used in all kinds of sim racing pedals and are part of “high-end” branding with high value properties, but they are impacting the pedal feel. They make sense for brakes, but for throttle and clutch you want a more smooth and responsive solution. We were investigating different kinds of Hall sensors and position measurement, as result we performed the right combination to have a very accurate position measurement. – Just like in a real race car.”

Perfect companion for Simucube ActivePedal

Simucube Co-Pedal has been designed as the perfect match for Simucube ActivePedal. Use ActivePedal as your brake, and Co-Pedal as either throttle or clutch, and you’ll achieve a synergy that adds a new level of control and immersion to your sim racing experience.

Fully adjustable design

Every aspect of Co-Pedal can be tuned to your preference. Adjustments include:

  1. Preload
  2. Travel length
  3. The length of the stem (pedal lever angle)
  4. The angle of the pedal face
  5. Pedal face height

What is Arc technology?

Simucube Co-Pedal uses patent-pending Arc technology, which is a modular system that physically transforms your pedal’s function. The transforming happens with an innovative Arc profile, which has been manufactured with ultra precision and is built to last, and the correct spring for either Throttle or Clutch.

“In Simucube Co-Pedal we are using those parts called Arc profile. We have 2 different shapes, one for the throttle and one for the clutch use. A roller follows the shape of the Arc profile, when pressing the pedal. Pressing the pedal with the throttle Arc profile installed, you have very linear pedal movement. Which is what you need for a throttle. And for a clutch the shape of the Arc profile is different. It is creating an S-shaped force curve. So, when the roller follows the arc, you will feel where the clutch bite point is before fully releasing the pedal. Combined with the correct spring you can create an authentic pedal feeling”

Throttle configuration

The throttle setup uses an Arc profile creating a linear force curve for smooth, progressive throttle control and it’s perfect for precise acceleration.

  • Progressive spring force curve
  • Smooth linear response
  • Adjustable travel distance

Clutch configuration

The clutch setup uses an Arc profile creating an S-shaped force curve designed to replicate the authentic feel of a clutch with a distinct bite point.

  • Realistic engagement point
  • Heavy-duty spring system
  • Professional-grade durability

Switching between throttle and clutch modes

Simucube Co-Pedal can easily be reconfigured between a throttle and a clutch with Arc technology. It comes pre-assembled as a throttle, but switching to a clutch takes just a few minutes using the tools coming with the pedal. By swapping the Arc profile, pedal face, and spring, you can transform it into a clutch pedal—and back again just as easily.

Co-Pedal Throttle features

  • Smooth throttle feel with patent-pending mechanics
  • Consistent hall angle sensor feedback
  • Adjustable travel and preload

Co-Pedal Clutch features

  • Realistic bite point feel
  • Inverted mounting

Inspired by motorsport Drive-by-Wire systems

Simucube Co-Pedal relies on Hall angle sensor for position measurement. Unlike traditional load cell-based systems that measure force, Simucube Co-Pedal’s design focuses on precisely measuring the angle of the pedal lever. This delivers a more accurate, consistent experience while eliminating dead zones, and ensuring reliable sensor feedback across entire pedal travel.

The same principles are used in high-end motorsport throttle and clutch pedals.

Behind-the-scenes of making Simucube Co-Pedal

“In the process of developing an upgraded version of our Simucube Throttle, we found out that with only changing the Arc profile and spring, we can create the feel of a clutch pedal. This was first only meant to be used as a throttle, but during the process, we accidentally came up with the clutch as well.”
