Control box erratic behaviour
Note: If your control box works fine, then there are no preventive measures needed
We have recently identified an issue that may affect a small number of users’ Control Boxes. Some users have reported erratic behavior from the device status LED and the torque adjustment encoder. After thorough investigation, we have determined the root cause and implemented a permanent solution.
What’s causing the issue?
In rare cases, signal noise traveling through the Control Box cable can increase when the unit is mounted to certain aluminium rigs. This additional noise may interfere with the I2C bus operation, resulting in the unusual LED or encoder behavior some users have experienced.
Our solution
We have tested and validated an effective solutions:
-
Ferrite cores on control box cable
Installing ferrite cores significantly reduces conducted noise, ensuring rig-related interference no longer affects operation.
Going forward, ferrite cores will be added during production for all new units.
Is your Control Box not working correctly?
If you are experiencing erratic behavior, we will take care of it under warranty.
Our team will guide you through the solution and ensure your Control Box is restored to optimal performance.
How many users are affected?
