Simucube 2 wheels on Simucube 3: How the adapter works
Upgrading your wheelbase shouldn’t mean starting your wheel collection from scratch. If you’re moving to Simucube 3 and have wheels paired with a Simucube 2 Quick Release, the Simucube 2 Quick Release Adapter for Simucube 3 keeps them in the rig.
What it does and who it’s for
The adapter replaces the Link Quick Release interface on your Simucube 3 wheelbase with the Simucube 2 Quick Release system. Any wheel you’ve been running with a Simucube 2 Quick Release mounts straight on — same as before, no modifications needed.
The adapter is designed for Simucube 3 owners who have an existing collection of Simucube 2 Quick Release wheels and aren’t ready to transition to the Link Quick Release ecosystem. It’s also useful for anyone running multiple rigs who wants flexibility between generations.
What to know before buying
Lightbridge does not work with this adapter. Because the adapter replaces the Link Quick Release interface entirely, wireless data and power transfer via Lightbridge is not available.
Bluetooth continues to work as normal. Wheel data transfer over Bluetooth is unaffected.
Installation is straightforward. Remove the original Link Quick Release from your wheelbase, install the adapter using the included fasteners and tools, and mount your wheel with the supplied locking pin. Nothing extra required.
