James’ story
Most people treat sim racing and real racing as different things, but James Baldwin and Verstappen Sim Racing don’t. “We put just as much effort into winning a sim race as anyone would a real one,” he says. “If anything, more.”
James Baldwin is a GT racer and professional sim racer, driving simulators for the Mercedes F1 team and competing with Verstappen Sim Racing.
2018
James began sim racing in 2018 to replace the thrill of karting while chasing his dream of becoming a professional race driver. Sim racing quickly became the foundation for developing his skills and racecraft.
2020
By 2020, his dedication earned him a full season in British GT- a breakthrough he credits to sim racing. After discovering Simucube that same year, he used its precision wheelbase to prepare more effectively for real-world competition.
2025
By 2025, James was competing in the GT World Challenge Europe, demonstrating how years of focused sim racing and training with Simucube helped transform his passion into a professional motorsport career.
