Base Performance Simulators (BPS) is one of the UK’s leading driver development simulator companies. BPS’ in-house single-seater and GT simulators are the training ground for multiple champions, especially from the world of sportscar racing.

From its headquarters in Oxfordshire, BPS provides access to its own full-size single-seater and GT simulators, which are also available for sale to racing teams or private individuals.

In 2020, BPS launched its first consumer product: a simulator created with the home user in mind. “Blade” is built on a specially-commissioned, rigid, powder-coated steel frame. The simulator boasts a BPS carbon, two-pedal, pedal box with electric fore/aft adjustment and a bespoke BPS carbon fibre race seat. Blade features the Precision Sim GPX Steering Wheel and runs a professional steering motor from Simucube.

BPS was founded in 2010 by Darren Turner, a three-time Le Mans winning racing driver. Turner is a sim specialist, with 20 years of experience in developing cutting-edge Formula 1 simulators, which has given him a unique insight into the science of racing simulation.

As a former winner and subsequent judge of the McLaren/Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, he knows what is important when it comes to driver training and development so it was a natural step for him to create Base Performance Simulators.
